Just returned from a nice week of music and relaxing on Norfolk Island . Played at the Island's yearly Country Music Festival. A lovely gig with Gina Jeffreys and some great pickin' with Rod McCormack on banjo and guitar,Ian Cooper on fiddle,Brendan Radford on guitar and the Smokin Crawdads.Love playing that music with Doug Gallacher on drums.A unique place and lovely people .Now back to teaching .. Ensemble nights this week .. I always enjoy that.

Been flat out over Easter. Byron is jumping and apparently Derek Trucks Band was the Man of the Match at Bluesfest. I have been in the studio doing CD for singer Laura Nobel.With a great band it was easy and a joy-Jim Kelly, Scott Hills and Steve Russell. 12 nice rythmn tracks in 2 days.My new Fodera NYC 5-string is sounding sweet. Plus 4 gigs last week and 2 days teaching ! Phew! But fun !

Had a fantastic show on Tuesday night . Packed room of happy people of all ages. The band was swingin'- the folks were singin' and I was knocked out the way the music talks to people . So great to play with horns and backing vocals and of course my boss rythmn section- Scott Hills, Jim Kelly and Bob Howlett .

Definitely the highlight of last week was seeing the gig by Return To Forever at QPAC Brisbane on Thursday night . Some of my all time favourite musicians -Stanley Clarke,Chick Corea and Lenny White, also with Jean-Luc Ponty and Frank Gambale . Great gig -Stanley was on fire !!

Looking forward to the Toowoomba Guitar Festival this weekend. I'll be working with Kirk Lorange and US session great Louis Shelton.
